Jyrki69 Interview

11/17/05 via email from Helsinki, Finland

1. How do you feel about the US release of "Devils" and the positive reactions thus far?
- It's about the damn time! Our main inspirations come from the US, so it's great to finally get some feedback from there! That's awesome! We'll bring you back something you've been missing for a while…

2. With the 69 Eyes having great success overseas how do you think the US fans will react when you get here and are you ready for the US fans?
- I think they will totally "get it" what The 69 Eyes are about. We know that already. I'm REALLY REALLY excited about that.

3. What do you want your fans to get out of 69 Eyes music?
- To escape from this world to the world I'm living. To realize the true essence of rock 'n' roll. To have some GOOD ROCKIN' TONIGHT:

"Good Rockin' Tonight by Elvis Presley
(words & music by Roy Brown)

Well, I heard the news
There's good rockin' tonight.
Well, I heard the news
There's good rockin' tonight.

I'm gonna hold my baby
As tight as I can.
Tonight she'll know
I'm a mighty, mighty man.
I heard the news,
There's good rockin' tonight.

I say, well, meet me in a hurry
Behind the barn,
Don't you be afraid, darling,
I'll do you no harm
I want you to bring
Along my rockin' shoes,
'cause tonight I'm gonna rock away
All my blues.
I heard the news,
There's good rockin' tonight.

Well, we're gonna rock! We're gonna rock!
Let's rock! Come on and rock!
We're gonna rock all our blues away!

Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight.
Have you heard the news?
Everybody's rockin' tonight.

I'm gonna hold my baby
As tight as I can,
Well, tonight she'll know
I'm a mighty, mighty man.
I heard the news,
There's good rockin' tonight.

Well, we're gonna rock, rock, rock,
Come on and rock, rock, rock,
Well, rock, rock, rock, rock,
Let's rock, rock, rock, rock,
We're gonna rock all our blues away!"

4. Can you tell me anything about a US Tour at this point?
- We'll most likely come to tour there 2-3 weeks in late February/early March 2006!

5. How do you feel about the overwhelming support and interest of US Team 69? Are you surprised?
- We're really lucky to have people like you with us - I personally hope that we all can party HARD around as we'll be there!!!

6. Name 3 things you must do before you die.
- Fall in love, get married and go to Hawaii!

7. What is the nicest thing a fan has ever done for you or given you?
- If somebody calls her- or himself a 69 Eyes fan that's already such a big thing for me! I and we consider 69 Eyes fans as our friends and we like to party with our friends, it's always nice to meet cool people all over the world!!!

8. Is there a song that blows you away every time you hear it? What song is it and why?
- There's so many…Like "Underground" by The Throbs, "Light My Fire" by The Doors, "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, "Highway '69" by The Fuzztones, "Motor" by Circus Of Power, "Welcome To the Jungle" by G'N'R, "Flesh For Fantasy" by Billy Idol, "Live For Today" by Lords Of the New Church, "Until I Get You" by Hanoi Rocks, "Join Me In Death" by HIM etc - they wake up my rock'n'roll instinct.

9. Describe the feelings associated with writing the lyrics to "Stigmata", "Framed in Blood" & "Only You Can Save Me."
- "Stigmata": it was like a soundtrack for the then-upcoming sequel for the movie DESPERADO, I heard it was supposed to be called "Once Upon A Time in Mexico", so I had these musical ideas in my head...DESPERADO is one of my favorite movies ever, the sequel wasn't unfortunately that good...
- "Framed In Blood": man's got to do what man's got to do - the Crow has to revenge, I have to rock, it's in the blood, written there...
- "Only You Can Save Me": my relationship was coming to its end, so I was inspired for this, it's a bit like a sequel for "The Chair" which was about the same girl...It's actually nearly a gospel song in the end, that's cool....

10. What is the craziest thing you have ever done in your life?
- The 69 Eyes.

11. What do you think of bootleg recordings of your music?
- They're cool! Bootlegs keep the music alive!

12. Do you believe in...

Destiny
Love at First Sight
Angels
Aliens
Soul Mates
Things Happen for a Reason
Heaven and Hell
Ghosts
- YES! to all of them.

13. Message for your fans???
- Love me.

Thank you to Mr. 69 for answering the questions!!
